How full-text and Boolean search work

Select Full text / Boolean to search PDF text, rather than case details. No AI call or research credit is used.

  • "tie-in" OR tying finds either expression.
  • "relevant turnover" AND penalty requires both anywhere in the same order.
  • "exclusive distribution" NOT "exclusive supply" excludes orders whose searchable text contains the second phrase.
  • (tying OR bundling) AND dominance groups alternatives.

Use uppercase operators. NOT is evaluated before AND, then OR; adjacent terms mean AND. Matching is case-insensitive and punctuation separates words. A quoted phrase must occur on one PDF page; AND and NOT apply across the document. Each OR alternative needs a positive term. Proximity and wildcard search are not supported.

Only extracted, readable PDF text is searched. Scans, images and extraction gaps may hide a mention—including an excluded term. A match is not a finding or endorsement by the authority.
